The Hawaii Department of Education has identified Induction and Mentoring as one of its 6 priority strategies for school improvement. The department recognizes that teachers, especially beginning teachers, need quality support, especially at the start of their teacher career. Our program is designed to work with the existing support at Leilehua which include Learning Teams, Department Learning Teams and Focus Groups/Quality Circles.
